The resurrected Canadian-American Challenge Cup is a treat for all those who want to experience the thrill of sports prototypes and racing cars from the 60s to 90s up close. Vehicles with an impressive history and brute sound come together in an impressive starting field that brings motorsport history to life. Together with friends from the FHR, they will compete in the "CanAm & SCC" series.
Spectacle with a cult factor
Group 5 cars from Kremer Racing, Kannacher or Loos join elegant prototypes such as the Porsche 917 or Ferrari 512 - the CanAm & SCC series offers a unique spectrum. The series is organised for GTs, racing sports cars (1966-1990), Sports2000 and - new from this year - Group C vehicles as an integral part. As a result, the fascination of different eras merges into a thrilling overall picture.
The CanAm legend lives on
The original Canadian-American Challenge Cup (CanAm) series, which ran between 1966 and 1974, was notorious for its lack of rules: no engine capacity limit, turbochargers allowed, hardly any technical restrictions. The result: true horsepower monsters from McLaren, Lola, Shadow or Chaparral that put even the Formula 1 of the time in the shade.
Today's series picks up on this myth - with original vehicles and faithful replicas of the CanAm and Interseries era. The aim is clear: to bring the most spectacular era of motorsport back to the racetrack in authentic form.
