When the ADAC Nürburgring Classic opens its gates from 12 to 14 June 2026, they will once again be among the unsung heroes of the weekend: the cars in the ‘Battle of the Dwarfs’. Hardly any other racing series combines compact cars with spectacular racing in such a charming way.

Diversity within a small form factor
The track sees a host of classic small touring cars competing against one another – from Abarths, NSUs and Minis to Fiats, DKWs and Steyr-Puchs. With a large and diverse field of entrants, the series is one of the most varied in historic motorsport.

Pure racing rather than showing off horsepower
What makes the ‘Zwerge’ special is not only their diversity, but above all the nature of their racing: close battles, slipstream duels and daring manoeuvres are the hallmarks of the sport. Their comparatively low power output is more than compensated for by their light weight and the drivers’ total commitment – the perfect conditions for thrilling motorsport on a level playing field.
