The Lurani Trophy will once again bring the golden age of Formula Junior back to the Nürburgring in 2026. From 12 to 14 June, original racing cars built between 1958 and 1963 will take to the track as part of the Nürburgring Classic – the very cars in which legends such as Jim Clark, Jochen Rindt and John Surtees once began their careers. Authentic, technically diverse and featuring an international line-up, the series remains one of the most significant categories in historic formula racing to this day.

The FIA Lurani Trophy will once again form part of an international calendar in 2026, featuring races in Germany, France, Italy and Portugal. The round at the Nürburgring Classic is one of the season’s key events, bringing a top-class field of historic single-seaters to the Grand Prix circuit.

Motorsport history in motion

Whether front-engine designs, delicate space-frame chassis or early monocoque chassis – hardly any other racing series illustrates the technical evolution of formula racing as vividly as Formula Junior. The cars epitomise an era in which innovation, lightweight construction and driving skill made all the difference – and to this day they deliver thrilling, close racing at the very highest level.

The Lurani Trophy is therefore far more than just a historic race: it is a living history of the next generation of international motorsport – and a real highlight of the Nürburgring Classic 2026.
