Since its debut at the ADAC Nürburgring Classic, the Touring Car Golden Era has quickly become an integral part of historic touring car racing. What began in 2022 as a standalone series for legendary touring cars now stands for authentic motorsport, a wide variety of cars and the return of a defining era in touring car racing.

Legendary touring cars from the DRM, DTM and international series

The Touring Car Golden Era brings together original cars and faithfully restored racing cars from the most significant touring car series of their time. These include cars from the German Touring Car Championship (DRM), the DTM, the Super Touring Car Championship (STW) and international series such as the ETCC and WTCC.

Many of the cars used were already in service for well-known private and works teams during their active careers. Today, they are painstakingly restored and maintained by their owners and continue to be brought onto the track ‘ready to race’. This close connection to history ensures a particularly authentic motorsport experience.

Over 50 touring cars will make for a packed starting grid in 2026

Visitors to the 2026 ADAC Nürburgring Classic can once again look forward to one of the strongest line-ups of the weekend. More than 50 touring cars from different eras and under various regulations make for an exceptionally strong field of competitors.

Fans can experience the series in particularly impressive fashion during the Grid Walk, where they come face to face with the cars and drivers. The atmosphere on site brings the fascination of the Golden Era of touring car racing to life – loud, immediate and emotional, at eye level.
